Marta Wakula-Mac was born in Nisko, Poland. She graduated from the Institute of Art, Pedagogical University in Krakow in 2003 with a Masters Degree in the field of Fine Art Education. She also received a diploma working in linocut technique with Prof. Jerzy Jedrysiak. Since then she has been living and working in Dublin. She has been working and developing linocut and etching techniques.
Wakula-Mac has had solo exhibitions in Ireland and Poland and her work has been included in many group shows in Ireland and internationally /9th International Biennial of Illustration – The 44th Golden Pen of Belgrade, V International Small Engraving Biennial L’Arte e Il Torchio/ Art and the Printing Press, Civic Museum of Cremona, Italy, Museum Dwory Karwacjanow i Gladyszow, Gorlice, Poland, National Gallery of Ireland. Awards include Arts Council Travel and Training Award and a grant from Culture Ireland.
She is an author of over 40 illustrations to a book by Susan Knight, Gommorah, published
in Dublin in 2007 and her work is regularly published in The Stinging Fly Magazine.
